Some will argue that the good Lord above brings these anxieties upon us, and although sometimes he does indeed put obstacles in our path, he is not the one responsible for the tension associated with these obstacles. Some may blame their teachers or professors for laying the heavy workload, and although they do indeed accomplish that, they are also not responsible for the worries you are burdened with. Many will even blame their bosses, who, although they may expect a lot, are simply doing their jobs like you are. The tasks your boss sets out for you to accomplish, although trying at times, are also not the source of your strains.
As a reader, after reading what is above, one would wonder who I believe is responsible for all our nervous tension if indeed it isn’t God, our teachers or our bosses. The point I am making is that your stress is nobody else’s fault but your own. Things are a lot simpler than most people make them. People spend all this time living with jealousy, worrying about what others are thinking, holding grudges and coveting the things of others. It doesn’t have to be that way, however as I type this, I am equally as guilty as the person next to me.
Instead, I attempt to view the simple things in life. I appreciate a breakfast of grits and bacon, instead of focusing on the fact that it wasn’t served to me in bed. Rather than complaining about the quality of my shoes, I take them off entirely and enjoy the grass between my toes. I could long for the stereo system of my neighbor, but in place of that jealousy, I listen to what I do have, an open window and thousands of crickets and frogs outside singing me a lullaby. Everyone has something to enjoy…So enjoy!
